Barrett Europe’s recent move to new, high specification premises has allowed us to improve on the already renowned product support and training commitment that has always been a feature in Barrett’s ethos.
Howard will be filling the newly created position of Technical Support Manger (Europe), liaising with clients on system design, training and other technical issues, both in the field and from the office.
From an early age Howard had a keen interest in radio communications, regularly scanning the commercial shortwave bands amassing numerous *QSL cards from distant stations.
Howard joined the Royal Navy, completing formal telecommunications training at HMS Mercury (signal training college) in Hampshire. During his military career he served in various ships and shore establishments worldwide, some of which included Bermuda, Gibraltar, Hong Kong and The Falklands.
Howard left active service in the rank of Chief Radio Supervisor.
During 2007 he briefly returned to uniform to train the Kenyan Administration Police at their training college near Nairobi in the operational use of the Barrett HF equipment.
*QSL Cards - internationally recognised type of card, to verify reception of broadcasts
