Barrett has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract.
Barrett Communications has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract from a Government Agency in the CIS region.
The project was both sensitive and critical in nature. The turnkey network design team provided in-country inspections and testing and worked with the client to meet the unique requirements of this communications infrastructure project. The equipment to be supplied includes secure 1 kW high power base stations, comprising operator receiver sites in existing command rooms and remotely controlled transmitter sites linked via digital microwave and interfacing to existing third party equipment.
Managing Director of Barrett Communications, Mr. Greg O’Neill said “I am pleased the contract has been awarded, it represents many months of negotiations and the combined knowledge of our turnkey network design team to supply highly complex packages designed to meet the client’s exact requirements.” This contract included all equipment, masts, installation and commissioning support. The team will continue to work closely with the client to provide in country training, spare parts, tools and test equipment.
Cognitive Radio: Smart Solutions for Spectrum Congestion
The surge in demand for wireless communication has led to significant spectrum congestion. Cognitive radio technology offers a smart solution to this problem by intelligently identifying and switching to available channels, enhancing spectrum efficiency and mitigating congestion.
Eliminating empty zones: Why HF radio remains critical in remote desert areas
Securing reliable communications across vast desert areas that lack the necessary infrastructure can be complicated. In these so-called ‘empty zones’, which can extend for thousands of kilometres, alternative comms systems must be put in place to ensure vital personnel can remain in contact.
