Barrett USA LLC receives JITC Certification for the Barrett 2050 HF transceiver.
Barrett Communications is pleased to announce on the 25th August 2011 it has received certification from the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) for the Barrett 2050 HF mobile and base station transceiver.
This certification includes conformance to the basic radio specification of MIL-STD-188-141B as well as the Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) specifications of MIL-STD-188-141B Appendix A. The JITC certification establishes Barrett 2050 transceivers as interoperable with other JITC certified HF transceivers which is paramount when considering coalition and Partnership for Peace (PFP) operations and the use of Barrett transceivers in HF networks for emergency preparation and disaster relief.
Why naval vessels would be all at sea without HF radio
To protect its citizens, regional defence forces must be well-equipped and well-maintained. When coordinating military operations, evacuations, and relief efforts, communications systems are crucial.
How HF radios enable environmental research in extreme locations
HF radios provide reliable communication for researchers in remote areas like Antarctica, deserts, and rain-forests where other networks do not have coverage or can fail.
